Over the last  several years we have been uniting families with this our wonderful breed, I have come to notice a sad change in the breed . A lot of the shorkies that are in the papers, or on other web pages, no longer appear to be the quality of shorkie you would of found just a few years ago.  It has been a big eye opener for us to try even harder to make sure our dogs go to the proper families- sad as it may be not all people who want a Shorkie should have one! If you are looking for a Shorkie please ask yourself a few things.......

Am I a good candidate for a Shorkie Puppy?

 Do you have the desire to have a CONSTANT companion. A dog completely and utterly devoted to you, and your family?  This is what a Shorkie puppy really wants, is to be with you- all the time!

 Just because we don't shed doesn't mean we don't need grooming help! we like to be combed

•  We are a great companion to all people and pets. We are happy if we are getting attention from the dog, the baby, the cat or you! We will be in your lap, or by your bed, or at your feet -if your doing something then we are too!
•  

  Teach me- I learn FAST! I work really well on a praise/treat program. Please don't yell at me, I have sensitive hearing & I don't speak English. It will also make me timid and afraid of you!

 

• If I have an accident please don't rub my nose in it, I won't learn what I did wrong that way. Just say no, and show me where you want me to go potty! Being consistent will help me learn quickly. Use the same commands each time you show me something.. "go potty?" "go to bed?" "Sit" I will be eager to do it over and over if you praise me- or give me a treat!

We are 1st and foremost a family, devoted to the happiness of our dogs and the family they join. My goal is to help others understand the amazing quality's that Shorkie are renowned for. They want to please their people. And besides their intelligence, they are amusing, beautiful & loving !!
